Getting the best from a jet wash
- Rinse the whole car first to lift loose grit before anything touches the paint
- Work from the roof down, so dirty water runs off panels you haven’t washed yet
- Keep the lance about 30cm from the paint, and further back from badges, stickers and chipped paint
- Give the wheels, arches and sills extra time; that’s where the dirt sits
- Finish with a final rinse so nothing dries on
Salt, sand and Island roads
Sea air, beach car parks and gritted winter roads all leave salt on a car, and salt left sitting underneath speeds up rust on sills, subframes and brake pipes. A regular rinse underneath, especially through the winter, is one of the cheapest ways to look after a car.
Booked in for an MOT or service?
You’re welcome to use the jet wash while you’re here. If the car is booked in with us, ask at reception about anything else you need doing on the day.
